Challenged our group with this one recently. Loved the results. Putting out a high level of effort that many times requires a high degree of focus and desire, but most got it done very well.

Can you tell me what age group you used this on? I love reading your sets. What was it that made this challenging specifically? How did you sett it up for your swimmers?

We did this set with our top senior swimmers, who range from Jr National qualifiers on down. I set it up as a mental challenge as much as a physical one. The challenge is to give it 100% effort over and over again … fifty times. That’s no small feat, but my feeling is that if you go 90% on something like this, you don’t get much out of it. So the goal was to go FAST every time. I also think when you look at it, “it’s just 25s, how hard can it be?” But they find out once you have done 15-20 that it’s getting really hard. We did some from a dive and some from a push just to keep some variety in it. Climbing out 25 times also made for a little extra work. I hope that answers your questions! Thanks for reading.
