  1. Hi Paul,
    We use the term “deep practice” to refer to whole-stroke swimming (as opposed to drill) where we are focusing on a specific part of the stroke. For example, in breaststroke, we might focus on fast hand recovery for a 25, then focus on hitting a good body line on another 25. The idea is to be narrowing/deepening our focus on a particular aspect without doing a drill to isolate it.
